“This is precisely the time when artists go to work. There is no time for despair, no place for self-pity, no need for silence, no room for fear. We speak, we write, we do language. That is how civilizations heal.
I know the world is bruised and bleeding, and though it is important not to ignore its pain, it is also critical to refuse to succumb to its malevolence. Like failure, chaos contains information that can lead to knowledge — even wisdom. Like art.”
CCC is a collective of working colleagues, who support each other, advise, produce concerts and mentor young people. These members are defined by their contributions to our work, and put in the work over these years. This collective, is a visible group of contemporary Black artists who share inspiring ideas about our work, and those themes about the work as a resource. This is exemplary of the greater service we provide.
We created zoom forums where members meet every month to share music and discuss issues related to music making today.

Goal: The issue for the active artist is to use these guide posts to activate interest, access and a market strategy for putting the music out there in the public sphere.
( To rid our work from the position of victimization, artists have to mechanize attention to this music by action and creating sustainable support systems to keep the music alive and in the public arenas of cultural access.)
Due to the interests and value of creating, documentation and cultivation of contemporary concert works, culture of Black music, this is important for the “benefit of the music”, public awareness and appreciation of the expression(s).
